FocusOn Learning: My First Learning Conference

A few weeks ago  I went to my first learning conference, Focus On Learning by the eLearning Guild . What a treat! This was my entrance, introduction, opening scene into the fairly small professional niche I have chosen for my career. “What have I done?” never crossed my mind. I was totally in my element, and here are a few reasons why.

1st Twitter Chat Experience

Last Friday, May 20 at 12pm MST, I signed on to Twitter and joined my first professional twitter chat: #GuildChat. The eLearning Guild does a different topic every Friday at this same time. There may have been 10 people participating in real time and a few after the hour was over. What I found was that I was engaged, connected, and encouraged by the network of experienced professionals.
